High School Baseball teams all over are wrapping up their season. But that doesn't mean that baseball season has to be entirely over.
The Science of Baseball,
an online resource from the
Exploratorium in San
Francisco, helps students
understand how scienceand mathematics are
involved in the game. The
site includes video and
audio clips of baseball
players and scientists
explaining how weather
affects the flight of the ball,
the physics of various
pitches and reaction times
to thrown and batted
baseballs. There are also
hands-on activities that you
can do after you've gone through
the online resources.
