Gale Databases New Feature: Downloadable Academic Reports

You students today seem to have had a ball downloading your academic journals from Gale Databases to your mp3 players. I certainly had fun watching. Those of you who don't know, every article found in Gale Databases may now be downloaded to your iPod or cellphone. It's the newest option. You may find it at the top right of the webpage inside any article. Look for a red, verticle rectangle with the usual database options of email, print, and save.

Last year, of course, you'll remember that the new feature was the text-to-speech option you accessed by clicking the "listen" icon. When you did so, a computerized voice read the entire article to you.

This year, the new feature is the ability to download articles straight to your digital devices that accept uploads in MP3 formats.

Check the library activity of the day. One student connects his iPod Nano and awaits an upload. Another students uploads an academic journal article and he even checks his iPhone just to make sure the article uploaded okay.
